What does Jesus say is the mission of all Christians and by extension the church?

Look for a local church...
  • With solid Bible believing doctrine. (1 John 4:1)
  • That places strong emphasis on teaching the Word of God. (2 Timothy 4:2)
  • With friendly people who love one another. (John 13:34)
  • That you see yourself investing your time and talents into (1 Peter 4:10)
  • Devoted to proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples. (Matthew 28:19)

  • What are some selfish motives when looking for a church?
  • Why is it a bad idea to church hop?
  • How can church be treated like a buffet?
  • What is your plan to find a church to attend?
  • If you already have a church, how are you investing your time and talents at that church?

For an example of a church with a solid Bible believing statement of faith:

Go to church to serve not be served.
Look for a solid Bible believing church that boldly preaches the Word, loves each other, is focused on the Great Commission, and where you can serve at using the gifts given to you by the Holy Spirit.

"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile."
